Jamaica out of women’s sprint hurdle final
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica was locked out of the women’s 100m hurdles final as Andrea Bliss in semi final 1 finished fifth, Shermaine Williams fourth in semi final 2 and younger sister Danielle sixth in semi final 3.
Tiffany Porter of Great Britain (12.63) won semi final 1 from Canada’s Angella Whyte (12.76). Nia Ali of the US was third in 12.83. Bliss finished fifth in 12.92.
American Brianna Rollins (12.54) in semi final 2 stretched the field winning over Russian Yuliya Kondlakova (12.73)
Jamaica’s Shermaine Williams finished fourth in 12.93
Defending champion Sally Pearson of Australia (12.50) the fastest time in the semis won semi final 3 over Dawn Harper of the US (12.61). Danielle Williams clocked 13.13.
Queen Harrison of the US and France’s Cindy Billaud complete the line up for the final scheduled later at 10:50am.
