Johnson replaces Bell in 4x400m relay
MOSCOW, Russia — Omar Johnson, semi-finalists in the men’s 400m has replaced the injured Javere Bell in the Jamaican men’s 4x400m relay team that will contest the final at the 14th IAAF World Championships at the Luzhniki stadium at 12:30pm Friday.
Johnson, the Central American and Caribbean Championships silver medallist ran 45.89 seconds in the semi-finals will join Javon Francis, Rusheen McDonald and Edino Steel in the finals.
Bell, Jamaica’s national champion was ruled out of the relays after suffering a hip injury in yesterday’s semi-finals.
