McLaughlin pulls up in first 200m semi, Ahoure wins
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s Annisha McLaughlin pulled up in third place clutching her leg in the first women’s 200m semi final at the World Championship in Moscow Thursday morning.
Murielle Ahoure of the Ivory Coast dominated in 22.46 seconds .
Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas was second in 22.64, followed by Americam Jeneba Tarmoh who ran her season’s best 22.70.
McLaughlin stumbled across the finish line in 27.13, with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
The first two in each semi qualify for the final event to be held tomorrow, August 16.
