Goule knocked out of 800m
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’ s Natoya Goule, running in the third of four races in the women’s 800 metre heats in Moscow, Russia on Thursday Day 6 of the 14th World Championships, did not progress to the semi finals.
Goule finished sixth in a time of 2:00.93.
American Brenda Martinez won Heat 1 from Marilyn Okoro of Germany and Mariya Savinova of Russia.
Alyson Montano also of the US won Heat 2 with Natalia Lupu of the Ukraine second and Halima Hachlaf third.
Heat 3 was won by Malika Aakaoui, Ekaterina Poistogova of Russia took second and Ajee Wilson of the US third.
Eunice Sum of Kenya won Heat 4 with Elena Kotulskaya of Russia second and Lara Muir of Great Britain third.
The first three in each heat along with the four fastest losers qualified for the semi-finals which start at 11:15am (Jamaica time) on Friday Day 7 August 16.
