Parchment’s unfortunate fall
MOSCOW, Russia – Hansle Parchment’s miserable season continued yesterday as he crashed out of the semi-finals of the men’s 110m hurdles at the 14th IAAF World Championships at the Luzhniki stadium with a suspected cramp in his left leg.
Parchment, the Olympic Games bronze medallist who had advanced from the first round as one of the fastest losers on Sunday, looked much improved in the semi-finals and was well placed for one of the qualifying spots when he hit the top of the barrier and crashed to the track where he laid for a few minutes.
He has missed significant training time after twisting his left ankle at the JAAA National Trials in June after running a then World Leading and National Record 13.05 seconds at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Eugene, Oregon in early May.
