Rockfort Community Football League under way
RUBiS Energy Jamaica, sponsors of the Rockfort Community Football League, kicked off on Sunday at 4:00 pm with 16 community teams participating in a dress parade.
On hand was Kingston Mayor, Senator Angela Brown-Burke, who joined in the commendations of the players and expressed her thanks to the sponsors RUBiS Energy Jamaica Limited, operators of the 53 Shell Branded service stations, and Petcom, who came together to sponsor the event.
Players were encouraged to exhibit discipline, talent and skill in play, as they recognise the avenues which can be opened to sports development through scholarships at the high school, local and international levels. Players were encouraged to play fair and to be consistent in giving 100 per cent at all times.
Donald Gary, President of RUBiS Energy Jamaica Limited, said that “RUBiS Energy Jamaica will continue to build on the good relations with this community. We will lend our support to this and other ventures, which seek to develop our youth as we play our part in developing strong men and women of integrity, committed to the building of our communities and this our Jamaica Land we love”.
