Harold Thomas to guide Harbour View FC trials this week
THE 2012-2013 triple champions Harbour View Football Club (HVFC) under the guidance of newly elevated assistant to head coach Harold Thomas, will hold a one-week trials starting today through to Friday at 3:30 pm at the Harbour View mini stadium.
The trials are for talented players wishing to join the club as members of the Premier and Under-20 league teams, as well as those re-entering as 2005 and 2007 champions of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), and possibly the CONCACAF Club Championships later this season.
Thomas, the coach of the 2010 and 2011 HVFC Under-21 League champions, and assistant coach in last season’s National Premier League, replaces his longtime associate coach Vin Blaine.
Blaine was last week appointed as the assistant head coach to German Winfried Schaefer for the Reggae Boyz Senior Men’s Team for the remaining four games in the 2014 CONCACAF FIFA World Cup Qualifying Campaign. Blaine is also the women’s national Under-20 head coach, and that team will be participating in the CFU Tournament starting this week at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.
Three foreign-based players have indicated their interest in participating in the trials, hoping to be selected to join the remaining HVFC players, who have already resumed training from Monday, July 10. Other players are overseas on loan spells, trials and holidays until mid-August.
