Bullying days over for dethroned kingmaker
Bullying days over for dethroned kingmaker
Fresh from his Cayman tirade — which has made matters worse for him — the dethroned kingmaker lashed out at directors whom he accused of leaking everything he says in private. The disaffected directors say he is having a hard time accepting that the days of ‘backra massa’ bullying and expecting everyone to ask ‘how high’ when he says jump, are long gone. He is never happy unless people are bowing and scraping to his every whim and fancy. But the directors are worried that he may just be going over the edge and they don’t plan to go over with him.
Singing for their supper?
It is well known that human rights groups, among entities that depend on overseas donors for their funding, have a tendency to sensationalise in order to be first in line for their handouts. I admire Carolyn Gomes’s JFJ and the civil society coalition but they need to be careful they don’t give the impression they are singing for their supper, in the latest brouhaha with the very trying Lisa Hanna.
Falling star
KD Knight has done his image such damage that some are saying they no longer regard him as the ‘Star Boy’ that emerged from the Manatt Enquiry. His behaviour in the court in front of student lawyers who should be looking up to him for good example has been appalling. Some people are saying they don’t expect better because that is the KD they know. Still, it’s hard to stomach.
Getting a life
The lady whose staff has dubbed her “The one who needs a life”, has been staying away from work and there is speculation that someone has put her in her place. There is another suggestion. She could well have found a life!
As serious as a judge
Heard the one about the female judge who went on bad after she was bad-driven on the Mandela Highway last week? People were said to be in shock after realising that those choice words were coming from her ladyship. I guess you can’t judge a book by its cover!
Question of the week
Was Sherone Simpson brought as an innocent lamb to the slaughter?
