RDX makes the dancehall jump
THERE is never a dull moment when songs like Broad Out, Kotch and Jump are played in the dancehalls or clubs.
The men behind these party anthems are producers Carlton ‘Renegade’ Williams and Andre ‘Delomar’ Bedward, known in entertainment circles as RDX.

“We bring a different colour to the music…it’s happy and what can be called aerobic music. It also helps to bring the ladies back into the spotlight in the dancehall,” Bedward told Splash.
Both in their late-20s, they started out in 2003 as members of the trio Xcitement Crew and evolved into RDX three years later.

In 2008, RDX scored another hit with Bend Ova, but it would be another three years before they returned to the charts with Jump.
“When we came back the hit song was Potential Kid’s Yah Suh Nice. It was a very catchy tune but in our opinion not the best song,” said Williams. “We knew we could do better so we went to the drawing board and recorded Jump, and the rest was history.”
The duo’s current project includes a 14-track album and one-drop compilation which are expected to be released this year.
Williams believes RDX does not get enough credit for their versatility.
“We do culture songs, but no one plays them. We record songs about family life and so on, but it is not highlighted.”
