North Gully Ambassadors hold advantage
MONTEGO BAY, St James — North Gully Ambassadors continue to surprise as they took a one-goal lead over Montego Bay Boys’ Club after a come-from-behind 2-1 win in the first leg of the St James Football Association Sandals/ATL Group Senior League at Jarrett Park on Sunday.
In the first leg of the double header, Seaview FC and Lilliput Rovers played out a 0-0 draw in the first leg of the Dennis Barton/Weston King Division One final.
Both return legs will be played next Sunday at Jarrett Park.
In the Senior League game, former national Under-15 player Javis Morrison gave Boys’ Club the lead in the 37th minute, but two goals from Nickalus Barnes gave North Gully the edge.
Boys’ Club’s lead lasted for six minutes before Barnes equalised in the 43rd minute, as the teams went into the half-time break tied at 1-1.
Barnes then got the winner in the 67th minute to put his team in the driver’s seat going into the return leg.
