Fire at Caymanas Park threatens today’s racemeet
Blaze caused by electrical malfunction not vandalsim, CTL says
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Horse racing at the Caymanas Racetrack may be affected today following a fire at the St Catherine-facility a short while ago.
The fire is reported to have occurred in the North Lounge of the Caymanas Track around 10:30am.
While the fire has been contained by the fire department, the company’s management said a decision on today’s racing programme has not yet been made.
It’s suspected that the fire started from an electrical malfunction from an air condition unit and not an act of vandalism, as reported, the CTL management said.
