Argument Done the verdict at Caymanas Park
DESPITE being the feature race on the shortened eight-race mid-week card, the Drumbeat Trophy $180,000 claiming race should give way to the penultimate seventh race featuring Overnight Allowance three-year-olds and upward going 1,700 metres at Caymanas Park today.
The event, which features a good crop of runners, is set to go to post at approximately 5:30 pm with first post at 2:15 pm. Argument Done, an imported dark bay, brown colt trained by Anthony Nunes for owners Elias Haloute & Percival A Henry & Courtney Walsh, and the improving local-bred chestnut gelding Deo Valente, trained by Wayne DaCosta for Elizabeth DaCosta, look poised to have the final say in the event with the former, ridden by Shane Ellis, having a decisive edge.
Imported four-year-old filly Miss Boss Lady, who is another seasoned campaigner at this level, will definitely enjoy the distance and has shown the class to be on par with the first two. However, while being a consistent earner, of late her efforts are not those that should inspire confidence for a winning run, even with the leading rider Omar Walker teaming up trainer Fitzgerald Richards.
Her final workout looks encouraging, but by the presence of the bold front-runner Classic Beau showing up so prominently on last, and being beaten by Uppa Tune, and the stretch-running four-year-old filly Jah Love, the race can be a competitive spectacle.
