Pepperpot: Pricing lawyers
People will have to decide now whether lawyers are “penny-farthing” as stated by former Mayor Desmond McKenzie or “high-priced” as stated by the Jamaica Observer. Heard about the one who is getting $10 million just for his retainer? Is that high-priced or penny-farthing, given the rapid depreciation of the dollar?
Unhealthy house calls?
Then there’s the doctor who is making house calls at all odd hours, and the robust sounds coming from the bedroom have raised suspicions that the ‘patient’ is by no means a sick person.
Empty boast, empty pockets
One should stop boasting all over the place when one can’t pay his bills and the credit card is declined at every point of sale. The landlady visited the workplace to “have it out” with the executive but he slipped out the back way.
The plot thickens
He had to be moved out of the way to bring in the one who is charged with promoting the top guy. So is he really getting two salaries? Who could be so lucky?
Breaking the kingmaker
The dethroned kingmaker appears to have resigned himself to the role of lame duck after the revolt among board members who are relentlessly applying pressure for the information on the investment. It could be heading for the courts.
