Davis looks to Under-15 challenge
RETIRED national player Fabian Davis expressed “great pride” at being recently appointed head coach of Jamaica’s Under-15 football programme.
Davis, a former standout for Arnett Gardens and Tivoli Gardens in the local Premier League, said he is looking forward to the challenge of guiding the Young Reggae Boyz during the inaugural CONCACAF Under-15 competition set for the Cayman Islands between August 14 and 25 later this year.
“As a former national player, it is with great pride and humility that I accept the appointment as national U-15 coach.
“We have a tough task ahead of the upcoming tournament in August, but I look forward to working with the team and I’m committed to putting on a good show,” the 38-year-old said in a statement.
The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) announced yesterday that its board of directors approved the appointment on May 16.
The JFF release added that local football boss Captain Horace Burrell is committing “all available resources to assist him (Davis) in conducting his duties”.
Davis, a successful prep school coach and former interim Arnett Gardens head coach, is an Advanced Level I and II graduate under the JMMB/JFF/University of Technology Coaching School. In 2012, he was sent by the JFF to a FA and CONCACAF International Course.
