Moo Young offers history
Renowned Jamaican photographer Howard Moo Young displays a framed memorabilia of the One Love Peace Concert held at the National Stadium in St Andrew on April 22, 1978.
The concert, headlined by reggae superstars Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, was an effort to end political violence which had polarised the country.
Moo Young captured the events on stage, including the show’s standout moment when Marley invited political rivals, the Prime Minister Michael Manley and then Opposition Leader Edward Seaga to hold hands in a show of unity.
Moo Young has put together 10 photographs of the historic event in a limited edition commercial venture that he hopes will attract subscription. He, however, intends to donate one to the Institute of Jamaica in downtown Kingston as his gift to the country.
