Khari Stephenson on target
JAMAICAN international midfielder Khari Stephenson scored his second goal of the season and his first in the MLS for Real Salt Lake in the club’s 3-1 win over the LA Galaxy in regular season action at the Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday.
Stephenson’s goal came in the 44th minute when he fired a low right-footed shot from 28 yards that beat a diving LA Galaxy goalkeeper Rowe into the left corner of the goal to give Real Salt Lake a 1-0 lead in the first half.
Galaxy equalised in the 45th minute through a Landon Donovan goal, before 61st minute substitute Colombian Olmes Garcia netted two unanswered goals in the 84th and 90th minutes to give Real Salt Lake a comfortable 3-1 victory over their famed rivals.
With this victory, Real Salt Lake maintain second position in the MLS Western Conference with 27 points from 16 games and eight wins.
