August Town seek Premier League promotion today

August Town, Wadadah FC and Volvo United will battle for the final spot of the Premier League qualifying tournament as the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) All-Island Confederation playoffs conclude today with two matches.

Having already booked their spot from last week, Rivoli United on 11 points will travel to third-placed Wadadah on six points, while second-placed August Town on seven points tackle bottom-placed Volvo with four points.

Of the three teams in contention, August Town have their fate in their own hands and a win against Volvo United would see them gaining promotion back to the topflight after they were demoted in 2010.

Ironically, both Rivoli and August Town were relegated the same year and both could make a return the same time three years later.
