Tastee/KSAFA U17 semis on today
It will be a meeting of titans in the Tastee/KSAFA Under-17 semi-finals double header at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex, where Cavalier will meet Harbour View and Tivoli will go head to head with Boys’ Town.
All four teams advanced to the semi-final round through impressive victories during the early stages of the competition. With the final four teams almost neck and neck in the points standings, it is expected that both matches will be a game of fast paced football, with great expectations for the final scheduled for next week Friday.
Rudolph Speid, President of the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) is proud of how the competition has progressed and praised Tastee Limited for the dedication they are showing the Association. “Tastee has partnered with KSAFA and by extension the football clubs in the competition; the coaches will tell you how grateful we at KSAFA are for the continued assistance Tastee has provided in not only this competition but others to come.”
The double header starts at 2:30 pm, while the second match is set to kick off at 4:15 pm.
Ryan Foster, Tastee’s Group Chief Operation Officer was unabashed to mention how excited he was for the upcoming matches, while he would not divulge which team he fancies, he was quick to say that Tastee prides itself in sponsoring sports, especially competitions involving youth.
“Tastee is aware of its corporate role in Jamaica and believes that we can truly make a difference in the lives of youth, especially those at risk. We have been investing solidly with KSAFA and expect a long and lasting partnership between the two organisations,” he said.
His sentiments were echoed by Jamal Tugman, Public Relations Officer who said this is just one aspect of sports that Tastee is involved in. “Our aim is to develop young people in key areas such as education and sports. Sports can be that catalyst for many young people who are looking for opportunities to shine. Tastee – ‘the home of Jamaica’s tastiest patties’ is here to provide that vehicle for change and growth in the lives of our youth through our continued investments in sports,” he said.
Tastee is also expected to roll out their brand new mobile unit at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex and some products will be available for purchasing. “You can expect lots of giveaways, performances and prizes during both matches. We encourage each of the four communities to come out and support their respective teams,” Tugman said.
