Four hunt ‘B’ League final spot
Waulgrovians ‘C’, Boulevard Baptist, Skibo ‘A’, Molynes United ‘B’ won their respective quarter-final matches to advance to the semi-finals of Best Dressed Chicken/Jamaica Netball Association (JNA) Intermediate ‘B’ League at the Leila Robinson Courts last Sunday.
All four winners will be in action in the semi-finals on Thursday with Waulgrovians ‘C’ playing Boulevard Baptist at 5:45 pm, while Skibo ‘A’ will go up against Molynes United ‘B’ at 7:00 pm. The winners will meet in the grand final on Saturday.
In quarter-finals action played last Saturday, Waulgrovians ‘C’ defeated GC Foster Strikers ‘B’ 46-44 in over-time. April Thompson scored 35 goals from 45 attempts and Nicole Dixon 11 from 18 for the winners, while Nardia White scored 23 goals from 32 efforts and Shana Kay Sewell 21 from 35 attempts for the losers.
The quarterly scores for the winners were 11-7 21-17 (half time) 28-28, 36-36 at full time. In extra time, Waulgrovians went on to win 46-44 goals.
SKIBO ‘A’ defeated SPEG ‘B’ 33-24 with Samantha White scoring 27 goals from 35 attempts for the winners, while Chiquana Reid scored 14 from 19 and Jenelle Jones nine from 15 for the losers. The quarterly scores for the winners were 6-6, 17-11 (half time), 23-20 and 33-24.
Boulevard Baptist got the better of Alexander Strikers 32-30, with quarterly scores of 10-7, 20-14 (half time), 26-21 and 32-30. Nicolene Blackwood scored 26 goals from 34 attempts for the winners, while Monique Emery scored 15 goals from 18 attempts and Sedeen Cesvette 11 goals from 16 efforts for the losers.
Molynes United ‘B’ got the better of Jetsetters ‘B’ 36-31, with quarterly scores of 8-6, 19-11, 28-18 and 36-31. For the winners, Samantha Smith got 14 goals from 23 efforts and D’Lisa Bartley 13 from 16, while Abby Gaye Larmond scored 23 goals from 42 efforts for the losers.
