Webb to preside over Champions League draw Monday
MIAMI, Florida — The official draw for the 2013-14 edition of the CONCACAF Champions League will take place on Monday here.
The live draw, to be presided over by CONCACAF president Jeffrey Webb, will be conducted at 8:00 pm at the InterContinental at Doral in Miami. The event will sort the 24 clubs set to participate in the Champions League into eight groups of three teams.
In addition, representatives of three-time defending CONCACAF Champions League Champion CF Monterrey and two-time runner-up Club Santos Laguna are expected be on hand to receive special recognition from CONCACAF.
The teams set to participate in the 2013-14 edition of the CONCACAF Champions League, scheduled to be represented at the draw, are Caribbean Zone’s
Valencia Football Club (Haiti),Caledonia AIA (Trinidad & Tobago) and W Connection Football Club (Trinidad & Tobago).
From the Central American Zone Club Sport Cartagines (Costa Rica), Club Sport Herediano (Costa Rica), Liga Deportiva Alajuelense (Costa Rica), Asociación Deportiva Isidro Metapan (El Salvador), Club Deportivo Luis Ángel Firpo (El Salvador), Club Social y Deportivo Comunicaciones (Guatemala), TBD (Guatemala), Club Deportivo Olimpia (Honduras), Club Deportivo Victoria (Honduras), Club Deportivo Arabe Unido (Panama), Sporting San Miguelito (Panama), Real Esteli Futbol Club (Nicaragua).
The North American Zone will be represented by Montreal Impact (Canada), Club de Futbol America (Mexico), Cruz Azul Futbol Club (Mexico), Club Tijuana (Mexico),Deportivo Toluca FC (Mexico), Houston Dynamo (US), LA Galaxy (US), San Jose Earthquakes (US) and Sporting Kansas City (US).
