Hairstyles to try now
Saint International modelling agency hosted its annual Styleweek Jamaica event in Kingston from May 22-26, which saw both local and overseas-based fashionistas in attendance. Naturally, our Get The Look team was out for the occasion and we spotted some hot hair trends at the Mecca CityStyle show held on the downtown Kingston waterfront last Saturday. Here are share a few helpful hints on how to play them up even more. (PHOTOS: KARL MCLARTY & LIONEL ROOKWOOD)

Who Rocked It: Reality TV star Kim Kardashian
Pair it with: Barely there makeup and bright lips for modish glam, or go for sultry with brown smokey eyes (use a cream eyeshadow) and nude lips.
Name: Morgan McFarlane
The Look: The Faux Hawk
Who Rocked It: R&B singer/songwriter Chrisette Michele
Pair it with: Edgy eyeliner such as a cat-eye look and sculpted cheeks, or go for grunge with thick, strong eyebrows and a dark grey smokey eye or smudged black eyeliner and a high-gloss lip.
Name: Celena Taylor
The Look: A Sleek Streaked Semi Updo
Who Rocked It: Journalist/actress/ wrestler Maria Menounos
Pair it with: An all-over bronzey glow and pink, red or coral lip for ultimate glam, or play the seductress with a plum lip and purple eyeshadows.
Name: Kerry-Ann Wedderburn
The Look: The Ballerina Bun
Who Rocked It: Top model/It girl Lindsey Wixson
Pair it with: Sculpted (use a blush/powder one shade darker than your skin tone) or rosy cheeks, matte pastel lips and just a hint of shimmer on the eyes, with black liquid or gel eyeliner and two coats of mascara for definition.
Name: Delita Hooks
The Look: Afrocentric/Artistic Free Spirit
Who Rocked It: Singer/songwriter and DJ Solange Knowles
Pair it with: One prominent highlight, as balance is key with this look. Your hair is already the focal point, so you don’t want to look overdone. Decide on whether you want to play up your eyes, cheeks or lips most, and let that be the only ‘wow’ factor. Keep everything else minimal.
