Granville, Corinaldi for U-13 final
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Former champions Granville All-Age and Corinaldi Avenue Primary will meet in next week’s final of the St James Football Association’s VMBS Under-13 league after wins in the semi-finals earlier this week.
On Wednesday, Granville beat Anchovy 3-2 on penalty kicks as the teams played out a 0-0 draw in regulation and extra time at the UDC field.
A day earlier Corinaldi Avenue beat St James Prep 2-0 in extra time to advance to next Wednesday’s championships.
On Wednesday, Ewan Barton, Andre Tate and Giancardo Watkin scored for Granville while Alex Barnett and Shaquille West were on target for Anchovy.
On Tuesday, the teams played out 0-0 regulation time (60 minutes) score as Corinaldi Avenue extended its season-long streak of not conceding a goal before Denyu Ricketts in the 64th and Chad Howell in the 66th saw them into the final.
