Pepper Pot: Palace coup?
The dethroned kingmaker is keeping a low profile after a virtual palace coup within the ranks of shareholders and board members fed up with his shenanigans that they discovered are motivated by envy of his competitors. They still haven’t heard what has happened to cause the big loss in the Motherland and he is not giving voice to any reason. It’s bound to break out any day now.
Foot-in-mouth disease
Mr Edmund Bartlett has really put his foot in it. After dissing local hoteliers by saying there was no internationally acclaimed high-end brand here, but the departing Ritz-Carlton, he tried to clarify and made matters worse. He should have quit while he was behind! No future administration will want him as their tourism minister after this.
Who will teach the teachers?
I don’t always agree with Education Minister Ronnie Thwaites, especially after he came out against condoms in schools. It’s us girls who need condoms most and Mr Thwaites is being sexist. But we agree with him on the question of teachers and their study leave. Let them study what they are teaching or pay for it themselves. Mr JTA president, please shut up!
Sex sells and how
Yes, sex sells, but the advertisers are going after it like there is no tomorrow. A woman’s body is being used to sell everything from cars to carrots. Creativity in commercials seems to be non-existent, but for a few advertisers who are still trying to practise the art.
Portia for Africa
Good to see Sister P touching bases with our African roots by going to the 50th anniversary summit of the Organisation of African Unity/African Union in Ethiopia. Way to go, PM.
Question of the week
Will the PM return from Ethiopia with a rod of correction?
