Corinaldi Ave, St James Prep book U 13 semi-final spots
MONTEGO BAY, St James – The semi-finals of the St James Football Association’s Victoria Mutual Building Society’s Under 13 football competition was decided on Tuesday after the final set of games in the quarterfinals round.
Former champions Corinaldi Avenue Primary and St James Prep scored 2-0 victories in must win games over Howard Cooke Primary and Cambridge Primary respectively in Tuesday’s set of quarterfinal matches played at the UDC field, to join Anchovy Primary and Granville All-Age.
Next Tuesday, Howard Cooke and St James Prep will meet in one semi-final, while a day later, Anchovy and Granville will meet for a place in the finals set for June 5, all to be played at the UDC field.
On Tuesday, Corinaldi Avenue topped Group 2 after beating Howard Cooke 2-0. Shadane Hamilton scored his second goal of the season in the 16th minute, while Chad Howell scored his third in the 40th minute to beat Howard Cooke Primary.
In the second game, Denri Williams scored his fourth of the season in the 10th minute for St James Prep, while Rosaun Phillips doubled the lead in the second half in the 36th minute for his fifth goal of the season.
