Anchovy book U-13 semi-final spot
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Anchovy Primary are the first semi-finalists in the St James Football Association VMBS Under-13 football competition after beating Mt Salem Primary 1-0 at the UDC field on Thursday for their second win in the quarter-finals.
Jabari Jarrett’s 26th minute goal was enough for Anchovy after they had earlier beaten Chetwood by the same margin earlier in the week to be on an unbeatable six points in Group One.
In another game on Thursday, Tavin Shaw scored in the 35th minute for Granville All-Age to beat Flankers 1-0 and take over the lead in Group Three.
On Friday, Howard Cooke Primary joined Corinaldi Avenue on three points in Group Two after they got points from Barracks Road Primary who failed to show for their game.
Supreme Prep edged ahead in Group Four on two points from two games after they played out a 0-0 draw with St James Prep in the other game, leaving the group wide open.
St James Prep and Cambridge are one one point each from one game played setting up a winner take all meeting next week.
