Celebration time for Ding Dong
WITH summer approaching, it is critical for artistes to get a hit song in the dancehall. Deejay/dancer Ding Dong believes he has a winner in Celebration.
The song hears him teaming with I-Octane, Chris Martin and Konshens.
Known for songs such as Holiday, Skip To Ma Lou and Gyalis, Ding Dong is confident Celebration will do well.
“The track it catchy and will get yuh dancing in no time. Like Holiday, it is the perfect summer song,” he told Splash.
Ding Dong (real name Kemar Ottey) recently joined forces with producer Markus Myrie of Markus Records for another new song, Protect Your Life, which encourages safe sex.
“This is not just another song, it’s something that’s personal to me as an entertainer, and a father, to emit positive messages to the youngsters,” he said. “For years various government agencies and corporate entities have been chiding local entertainers about the lack of positive messages in their music. Therefore, I want to be one of those to help with that change.”
Ding Dong is a member of popular dance group Ravers Clavers which rose to national prominence in 2008 when sprinter Usain Bolt celebrated each of his victories at the Beijing Games by performing their Nuh Linga dance move.
