Showdown in Jamdown, Rounds 1 and 2
Jamaica’s senior men’s football team will host CONCACAF giants Mexico and the United States in back-to-back encounters that the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has tagged Showdown in Jamdown, Rounds 1 and 2.
It is the first time that Jamaica will be facing the two CONCACAF giants in one week.
The Mexican team arrives on June 3 and USA arrive by charter on June 4. The Reggae Boyz will oppose Mexico on June 4 and then battle the United States three days later. Both matches will be played at the National Stadium beginning at 8:30 pm.
The JFF wishes to advise that ticket prices will remain the same as in the previous round of matches; Grandstand $4,500 and $5,500, and Bleachers $1,500.
Ticket sales will commence on May 30, and June 5 for the respective games.
As a reflection of the critical nature of the upcoming games, approximately 300 journalists from the USA, Mexico and the rest of the world have applied for accreditation, the JFF said yesterday.
The matches will be broadcast throughout the Caribbean, North America, Central America, South America, Africa and the Middle East.
According to the Federation, new safety and security measures which will impact positively on patrons will be communicated in the coming weeks.
The JFF is imploring the public to arrive early at the games.
