Las’ lap for Skoolaz
AFTER a six-month run, Skoolaz will be having its final performances at the Little Theatre on Tom Redcam Drive in St Andrew this weekend.
There will be two shows on Saturday — 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm — while Sunday will see one at 4:30 pm. Sunday’s performance will be dedicated to mothers.
The show opened on December 26 as it has done every year since 1941.
In this year’s pantomime, , actors play schoolboys and schoolgirls flaunting electronic tablets and cellphones as they move to choreography based on dancehall, hip hop, soca, lovers’ rock, and other genres skilfully moulded by Grub Cooper.
The laughter is unbridled.
“It is a great energy booster for the cast,” says Faith Bucknor, who has performed in 24 pantomimes.
