Fogo move up in Sandals/ATL league
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Former champions Fogo United moved up to second place in the points table of the St James Football Association Sandals/ATL Group Senior League on Friday night after scoring a 1-0 win over winless and last-placed Rosemount Gardens in rainy conditions at Jarrett Park.
Dwayne Miller’s 50th-minute goal was enough for Fogo to see off Rosemount, who have conceded a league-high 22 goals, as the winners moved to 22 points, one more than third-placed North Gully Ambassadors, but still five adrift of leaders Montego Bay Boys Club.
Also on Friday two midtable clubs — Little Miami and Reggae Youths — had big wins to inch up a spot in the table as well.
Little Miami beat Melbourne FC 5-1, thanks to a hat-trick from Alwayne Simons, while Reggae Youths came back from an early goal down to beat Violet Kickers 3-1 as both improved to 20 points each.
