Desperate Highgate welcome Savannah SC
Matters have already been settled at the front end of the Red Stripe Premier League, but not so at the bottom end.
That will be the main focus when the teams do battle in today’s penultimate round of matches in the 2012-2013 season.
Harbour View have already been crowned champions at the front end, and Savannah SC have also been condemned to the lower league. However, the team to follow them into demotion is yet to be finalised.
And Savannah could play a significant role in identifying the second team to be demoted, as they oppose Highgate United FC at Drax Hall in a game that the hosts must win to remain alive going into next week’s last round of matches.
Highgate are in 11th place in the 12-team standing on 38 points, five behind Humble Lion, who visit neighbours Sporting Central Academy at Brancourt at 3:30 pm.
In other games, Boys’ Town entertain Portmore United at Collie Smith Complex at 3:30 pm, Tivoli Gardens visit the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex to face Arnett Gardens at 6:00 pm, and Montego Bay United welcome Cavalier at Jarrett Park at 4:00 pm.
In tomorrow’s Monday Night encounter, champions Harbour View face Waterhouse at 9:00 pm at the Harbour View Mini-Stadium.
