Singers dominate Tastee Road Show
OF the 15 contestants who stood before the judges, only eight were selected for the next round in the Tastee Talent competition at the Portmore Mall in St Catherine last Saturday.
Singers were dominant among those chosen.
They were; Barrington Allen, singjay; Shantee Ffrench, singjay; Ricardo Smith, singer; Maurice Oliver, DJ; Oniel Allen, singer; Kelisha Simmonds, singer; Adrian Currie, singer; and Renée Sutherland, singer.
This was the first in a series of road show/ fun day showcasing those selected in the March 23 audition at the Tastee Drive Thru at the Portmore Mall in St Catherine.
The children on-hand were treated to bounce a bouts, cotton candy, popcorn, and face painting.
A motorcade — which made stops at Tastee outlets in Angels, Spanish Town and Portmore Pines — preceded the show.
Following a second audition on Saturday, May 18 at the Tastee car park in Cross Roads in St Andrew, an elimination is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 15, at The Turtle River Park, Ocho Rios in St Ann.
The winner is set to get $1million in cash, while second place receives $500,000. Third place winner will get $150,000.
