Mini tour for Beres Hammond
SINGER Beres Hammond is scheduled to start a mini tour of the United Kingdom and United States on July 17 at the Indigo O2 venue in Greenwich, England.
That show will also feature Marcia Griffiths and Morgan Heritage. The following day, Hammond and the Morgan siblings play the O2 Academy in Bristol.
Two days later, the three acts are down to perform at Cathedral House in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. The UK dates close on July 20 at O2 Academy in Brixton.
Hammond, who is promoting his One Love, One Life double album, then goes solo for three American dates in New Jersey (August 3), Virginia (August 7) and Washington DC on August 8.
Busy summer for Don Carlos
One of reggae’s best touring acts, the journeyman roots singer Don Carlos has a busy summer lined up with shows on the United States’ west coast, the Pacific Northwest and Europe.
Not surprisingly, the shows kick off in California, a happy hunting ground for the former Black Uhuru vocalist. The first gig is on May 22 in Los Angeles at The Dub Club, followed the next day with a show at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano.
Don Carlos’ other shows in the Golden State are scheduled for the cities of Monterey, Petaluma, San Francisco and Sacramento. He moves on to Oregon, Washington state, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico in June.
In July and August, Carlos is in Europe for the summer festivals which include Garance and Reggae Sun Ska in France, Sardinia in Italy and Ostroda in Poland. He closes his tour with three dates in California, the first of which is at Moe’s Alley in Santa Cruz on August 31.
