King Rebel tackles crime
Since the 1960s, Jamaican entertainers have come out against crime and violence, whether at dances or in the community.
Singer Aaron Britton who goes by the moniker King Rebel, is the latest artiste calling for peace.
He has released a song titled The Monster, which addresses social issues affecting Jamaica and the world.
A native of St Thomas, King Rebel says he was inspired to record the track because of Jamaica’s perennial crime problem. The Monster was produced by Morland Williams of Earth Worm Music.
“Each time I turn on the radio or the TV there’s another report about some form of crime taking place in my country or some other place in the world. It is very disturbing and we have to do something about it,” says King Rebel. “I’m an artiste that believes that positive words, sounds and power can help to make a change.”
The Monster was released just over one month ago. King Rebel is also promoting two new singles, Faithful and Confidence.
