Jamaica 62-4 at close against CCC in four-day match
KINGSTON, Jamaica—Reigning champions Jamaica struggled to 62-4 after dismissing the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) for a modest 150 in the rain-affected West Indies Cricket Board four-day match at Sabina Park on Thursday.
Jamaican pacer Brian Buchanan playing in only his second four-day match snatched 3-36.
He was supported by left-arm fast bowler Sheldon Cotterell (3-52), off-spinner Jamie Merchant (2-5) and experienced left-arm spinner Nikita Miller (2-34).
In reply, Jamaica were led by opener Brenton Parchment, who made 32.
Young middle-order batsmen Andre McCarthy and Jermaine Blackwood were not-out on two and zero, respectively, when the umpires ended play at 6:15 pm.
Dawayne Sealy led the CCC bowling with 2-29.
Jamaica, who are already safely through to the semi-finals of the competition, gave first class debuts to opener Zeniffe Fowler, Merchant as well as McCarthy, and rested regular captain Tamar Lambert, wrist-spinner Odean Brown, batsman Danza Hyatt and seamer Andrew Richardson.
The Combined Campuses have no chance of reaching next week’s semi-final.

Floyd Reifer, the 40-year-old left-handed veteran, top scored for the CCC with 63 runs off 126 balls, while opener Shacoya Thomas hit an attacking 35.
