Kashu goes to Higher Levels
MOBY’S Records singjay Kashu Man is satisfied with the response to his latest single, Higher Levels, taken from his debut album From Campaign to Champagne.
Kashu Man admits its popularity may result from belief that it is a veiled response to the ‘buss’ references similar to singer Chronixx’s runaway hit, Odd Ras.
“Bwoy, the people dem really a respond to the song, all inna the streets, every wey mi go mi ah get love. People ah wonder if mi a counteract Chronixx song because him mention the same ‘buss’ thing,” Kashu Man says. “Since the video drop, the song ah buzz pon the road, some disc jockey ah play it right after Chronixx song.”
According to Kashu Man, his song was written and recorded several months ago. He adds that the controversy has translated into robust album sales.

“Higher Levels is an energy song so it ah help push the album sales, mi used to doing soulful one drop and this song is out of the box,” he said. “So more interest inna Europe, South America, Argentina, Costa Rica, and the tour fi the US is a certainty this year.”
In February, Kashu Man launched From Campaign to Champagne. Most of the 15-track album are produced by Moby’s head honcho Ryan Singh and Christopher Plummer.
