FALMOUTH, Trelawny — The race for places in the final of the Trelawny Football Association Monymusk White Overproof Rums Major League appears wide open as the semi-finals get underway today with a double-header at the Elliston Wakeland Centre, starting at 1:30 pm.

Prospect Links and Spicy Hill will meet in the first game, followed by Classic United and Duanvale in the second. The return legs will be played at the same venue next Sunday with the winners on aggregate advancing to the final.

Classic United and Prospect Links were tied on 29 points at the end of the regular season, but Spicy Hill and Duanvale FC could hold the edge after wins in their most recent meetings.

Spicy Hill finished in third place with 28 points, just behind the top two and will have the psychological edge over mid-season champions Prospect Links, after beating them 2-1 in their third-round clash.

Spicy Hill’s attack will be led by Damaine Williams, whose 13 goals are by far the most in the league, but after conceding 22 goals, they could be susceptible in defence.

Classic United, who are the top seeds, edging Prospect Links on goal difference, and fourth seed Duanvale traded wins this season, but Duanvale had a big 3-0 win in their more recent meeting.
