FALMOUTH, Trelawny — The hunt for places in the finals of the Trelawny Football Association Monymusk White Overproof Rums Division One competition will start Saturday with the first leg of the semi-finals to be played at the Elliston Wakeland Centre, starting at 1:30pm.
Mid-season champions Salt Marsh which also finished with the most points, 28, will face Upsetters FC in one game, while All-Stars and Bacca Stars will square -off in the other.
The second leg will be played next week, at the same venue with the teams with the best aggregate over both legs advancing to the finals.
Despite finishing fifth overall in the final points table, Upsetters FC were included in the semi-finals at the expense of Muschett High School.
Muschett High had finished in fourth place on goal difference over Upsetters after both teams finished on 18 points, but league co-ordinator Marlene Brown told Observer West that the schoolboys were only allowed in the competition “for development purposes and were not eligible to contest the semi-finals”.
