Ryan Anglin hits hat-trick for Tower Hill All-Age
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Ryan Anglin of Tower Hill All-Age scored the first hat-trick of the St James Football Association VMBS Under-13 season yesterday leading his team to their second straight win, beating Lethe 4-0 in a Zone C game at the UDC field.
Anglin scored in the sixth, 10th and 25th minutes to give his team a 3-0 lead at half-time before Collin Bernard scored a fourth goal in the 46th minute of the 60-minute game.
The hat-trick took Anglin’s goal tally to four, as he also scored in their opening 4-0 win over Team Work Prep last week.
Tower Hill are one of three schools, including Granville All-Age and St James Prep, to win back-to-back games at the start of the season.
Tower Hill lead Zone C with six points, three more than Lethe.
In another game played yesterday, Granville blanked Glendevon 5-0 to take over the lead in Zone B ahead of Corinaldi Avenue Primary, four points.
Giancardo Watkins scored twice in the second half for Granville, who led 1-0 at half-time through Odaine Gentles’ 18th-minute goal.
Tavin Shaw and Ewan Barton also scored once each in the second half for Granville.
In a third game, Corinaldi Avenue and Barrett Town drew 0-0 in a Zone B game.
Three more games will be played at the UDC field today where six schools will be seeking their first win — John Rollins Success will face Team Work in the 10:00 am game; Mt Salem and Catadupa will meet at 11:15 am, while Albion and Flankers will meet in the 12:30 pm game.
