After denying opposing big man DeMarcus Cousins in the paint, Gasol showed his versatility by defending out on the perimeter and blocking a potential game-winning three-point attempt from Marcus Thorton with his team ahead by just two points.
4 Tobias Harris of the Orlando Magic was all about ‘swag’ on Wednesday in his team’s match up against the Milwaukee Bucks. With his team down 95-92, with seconds to go in regulation, Harris managed to get the better of his defender before rising up and draining a three-pointer, following through to rest in a kneeling position where he posed for the world to see.
3 Boston Celtics forward Brandon Bass brought the house down against the Brooklyn Nets from as early as the first quarter, driving from the wing past a host of Nets defenders beforing adding centre Brook Lopez to his posterised collection with a two-handed finish.
2 This was a big week for defensive plays, as Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers showed his capabilities by claiming four blocks against the Portland Trailblazers. One of his many was a left-handed block on a dunk attempt on Will Barton after he led a Trailblazers fast break.
1 Converting defence into offence is the hallmark of this week’s iLikes as the Oklahoma City duo of Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant stole the show on Thursday. Squaring off against the Golden State Warriors, Westbrook, out of nowhere, emerged to block the shot of Steph Curry resulting in Durant taking hold of the loose ball and sprinting the length of the court for a huge one-handed dunk.
