Tellah is back
FIVE years ago, she placed third in the inaugural Magnum Kings & Queens of Dancehall competition. Since then, not much has been heard from Tracey-Ann Alecia Dawkins, better known as Tellah.
The sassy deejay took a break after having her third child, but is back in business with new management and songs.
“Right after I entered the contest I got pregnant and had a beautiful little girl, and she is growing up nicely. Now I’m ready to focus on my career again,” Tellah said in a recent interview.
She recently signed a recording and management contract with Anthony Garrick of Jam Vibz Muzik. “These are busy times,” Tellah points out.
Over the last few weeks I have been very busy in the studios and things are going really well, she said.
Mother’s Cry and Money Money are the songs she is currently pushing.
The Solution debuts
Reggae singer Solution is preparing to release his debut album after 20 years in the business.
He says the yet-to-be-titled set is scheduled for release by summer. It features productions by Sly and Robbie and Delroy ‘Fatta’ Pottinger.
Originally from Hanover, Solution relocated to Kingston during the 1990s where he worked as an automotive painter, but in his spare time recorded at several studios including Penthouse and Music Works.
“I have been doing music for a good time now, I spent my earlier days in the music business sharpening my skills as singer and a songwriter, and I’ve also learned a lot about the business side of the business. Now I’m ready to make a serious impact on the music industry,” he said.
Solution, whose real name is Lenny Mairs, plans to release singles including Lose My Soul, leading up to the release of the album.
