Precious win for Timeforarms
A ride of some merit from jockey Richard Mairs took Timeforarms to a precious victory in the $715,000 Overnight Allowance highlighter by 1 1/4 lengths at Caymanas Park yesterday.
It was, however, the five-time champion jockey Trevor Simpson and the current champion jockey Dane Nelson who combined with two wins each to take riding honours on the 10-race programme.
Simpson had back-to-back wins aboard Naturalfantacy for trainer Anthony Ferguson in the fifth and Sheza Bosslady for trainer Lorne Kirlew in the sixth.
Nelson, now four wins short of overhauling Omar Walker who is on 33, had the leg up on Doc Holiday in the third race for trainer Richard Azan and closed the programme atop Money Honey for trainer Leroy Biggs.
Timeforarms, trained by Fitzroy Glispie who is also a part owner with Gary Lee-Sin, came running from below the distance to tag the leader 6-5 favourite Uppa Tune ridden by Richard Mitchell close home. The victory completed a hat-trick of wins for Timeforarms that began in December of last year and continued in March of this year.
My Friend Lucy, a 21-1 betting option ridden by Dick Cardenas, was third while the well-supported Jet Setter, ridden by Trevor Simpson, completed the frame as a 2-1 bet in the field of 11.
