Village United hunt last semi-final spot
FLORENCE HALL, Trelawny — Village United will continue their quest for the fourth and final semi-final place in the Jamaica Football Federation Captain’s Bakery and Grill Western Confederation Super League this afternoon when they take on Tomorrow’s People in a rescheduled third-round, cross zone game at the Trelawny Stadium starting at 3:30.
Village United, who were relegated from the National Premier League last season, are in seventh place on 19 points, but are four points from the fourth-placed team with a game to go on Sunday.
Tomorrow’s People, meanwhile, are well set, having already secured their place in the semi-finals and a win today would see them take over the top spot from Reno FC.
Reno presently lead the league on 33 points, one more than Tomorrow’s People, who were held 0-0 by Catherine Hall on Sunday, with Wadadah FC in third place on 30 points and also sure of their semi-final place.
Granville United are in fourth place on 23 points and need to win on Sunday to ensure their spot in the last four, as Village United and Holland United are also contenders.
