Kinloss deliver killer blow to Invaders
BUNKERS HILL, Trelawny — Invaders SC’s quest for a place in the semi-finals of the Trelawny Football Association Monymusk White Overproof Rum Major League ended on Sunday after they were surprised 3-0 by relegation-bound Kinloss FC at Bunkers Hill.
The loss saw Invaders SC drop to ninth in the points tables on 20 as they have picked up just one point in five games since losing to Prospect Links in the mid-season final, outscored 15-4 in the process.
With one round of matches left to be played this weekend, six clubs led by Classic United, are still in with a chance to make it to the top four.
Classic United and Prospect Links are on 26 points each and need only a point to qualify while Spicy Hill, Flames, Duanvale, and Exidos So Fresh are all contenders.
On Sunday, Derron Gardener’s 25th-minute goal and Cory Small, in the 45th minute, gave Kinloss a 2-0 lead at half-time, while Delroy Brown got a third in the 64th minute for Kinloss’s second win and first in 14 games dating back to early December last year.
