Reno soar to Super League lead
FROME, Westmoreland — Former champions Reno FC took over the lead in the points tables of the Jamaica Football Federation/Captain’s Bakery and Grill Western Confederation Super League after beating relegation-threatened Petersfield 2-1 in their rescheduled third-round cross-zone game at Frome on Sunday.
Reno’s 10th win took them to 33 points from 15 games, one more than Tomorrow’s People who were held goalless by Catherine Hall in Montego Bay with Wadadah FC in third place on 31 points.
Meanwhile, Catherine Hall slipped further into relegation danger after getting just a point from their draw against Tomorrow’s People and are stuck in ninth place on 15 points.
At Frome, Craig Foster scored twice to take his goals tally to six, once in either half to lead Reno to the win, netting in the 28th and 75th minutes, while Romario Whyte pulled one back for Petersfield in the 77th minute.
