Village hunt place in Western Confed semis
FLORENCE HALL, Trelawny — Village United will continue their hunt for a place in the semi-finals of the Jamaica Football Federation Captain’s Bakery and Grill Western Confederation Super League today when they take on leaders Tomorrow’s People in a rescheduled third-round game at the Trelawny Stadium set to start at 3:30 pm.
Village United are one of four clubs still in with a mathematical chance of taking the fourth and final place in the semi-final, along with Catherine Hall, who will face Reno at Frome starting at 6:00 pm, also today.
Tomorrow’s People, 31 points, Wadadah FC, 30 points, and Reno, 27 points, have all confirmed their places in the top four, while Village United, Granville United and Holland United are in with good chances of joining them
Catherine Hall’s position is on a knife’s edge, as they could either make it to the semis with some luck or be relegated, as with the expected return of Savannah SC from the Red Stripe Premier League five teams will face the drop at the end of the season.
Catherine Hall are on 14 points, but must win all three remaining games if they are to have any chance of staying in the league.
Two teams, Logwood of Hanover, who have completed their schedule on eight points, and Harmony on 12 points with two games to be will not return next season.
