Wadadah FC snap two-match losing run
GRANVILLE, St James — Wadadah FC snapped a two-game losing run by edging Granville United 1-0 in their third-round cross-zone Jamaica Football Federation/Captain’s Bakery and Grill Western Confederation Super League game at the Sam Sharpe Teachers College grounds on Sunday.
Wadadah FC, who have already secured a semi-final place despite losing back-to-back games to Reno FC and Holland United last week, had to wait until the 85th minute for midfielder Olivier Traile to score his third goal of the season and give them full points.
Tomorrow’s People are still leaders of the points tables with 31, one more than Wadadah FC (30) after they got full points and three goals after relegated Logwood United turned up late for their game.
The other game between Bamboo FC and Harmony FC at Bamboo was called off with two minutes to go after spectators invaded the field.
Harmony had scored through Noy Mahoney when the game was disrupted.
Two more games will be played tomorrow as third-placed Reno FC host Catherine Hall at Frome starting at 6:00 pm, while Village United and Tomorrow’s People will meet at the Trelawny stadium starting at 3:30 pm.
