Ambassadors extend lead in Sandals/ATL Senior League
MONTEGO BAY, St James — North Gully Ambassadors extended their lead in Zone A and Montego Bay Boys’ Club took over the lead in Zone B after wins in the St James Football Association Sandals/ATL Senior League as action resumed on Tuesday.
North Gully Ambassadors beat Violet Kickers 2-0 at the UDC field to extend their lead to six points after improving to 17 at the top of Zone A.
Fogo United, on 11 points, are in second place, two more than Violet Kickers on nine points from eight games.
Dwayne Powell gave North Gully the lead in the 24th minute when he curled a shot from the left side of the Violet Kickers 18-yard box into the far corner.
Leon McKnight added a second goal in the 71st minute to secure North Gully’s second win over Violet Kickers this season.
Two goals each from Javis Morrison and Leroy Christie guided Boys’ Club to an easy 4-0 win over Rosemount Gardens at Wespow Park.
Boys’ Club led 1-0 at half-time before scoring three more times in a 20-minute span in the second half to assume sole leadership in Zone B over Montego Bay United Under-21 on 14 points.
In another game at Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College, Little Miami won for the first time since the first round, edging Revelations 3-2.
Revelations came back twice to level the scores with two goals from Sabastian Robinson, but Patrick James’ 83rd-minute winner made the difference.
Androcle Poyser who also scored twice gave Little Miami the lead in the first minute, but Robinson levelled the scores in the 31st minute.
Poyser scored again in the 36th minute only for Robinson to draw his team level again in the 70th minute before James scored the winner seven minutes before the end of the game.
