MONTEGO BAY, St James — The semi-finalists in the Jamaica Football Federation’s Captain’s Bakery and Grill Western Confederation Super League should start taking shape after two rounds of matches set to be played in the third round between Thursday and Monday.

Presently nine teams are in with a chance of making it to the top four led by Wadadah FC who are on 24 points from 11 games, tied on points with Reno, who have played one game more. Mid-season champions Tomorrow’s People are in third place on 22 points from 11 games, with Village United in fourth place on 19 points from 12 games, just three more than former champions Granville FC on 16 points from 11 games.

Holland United and Petersfield FC, as well as Catherine Hall are not far behind and are in serious contention for a place in the semi-finals.

Today, Wadadah FC who were held 0-0 by Tomorrow’s People at Jarrett Park on Monday, will take on lowly placed Bamboo FC at Bamboo, and will face Reno next Monday at Jarrett Park in what should be a preview for the semi-finals.

On Monday Wadadah looked match rusty after playing once in three weeks, but should be back to near full capacity against Bamboo who have lost their last four games, and is a prime candidate for relegation.

Reno will be home at Frome to Catherine Hall who are just above the automatic relegation zone and are winless over their last eight games.

Tomorrow’s People are on a high since upsetting Wadadah FC in the mid-season final and will start favourites to beat Petersfield FC at Jarrett Park today.

Davell Cornwall who has scored five goals so far, along with Jermaine Cooper and Gregory Tape are expected to lead the Tomorrow’s People team as they take on a Petersfield side that has so far conceded 14 goals.

The clash between Granville and Village United at Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College will be keenly watched as the winner will take ownership of fourth place and in the driver’s seat to the semi-finals.

Granville has recovered from a poor start where they earned just one point from their first five games but have won their last three games and are unbeaten in their last seven, outscoring their opponents nine goals to four over the span.

In other games today, Holland and Harmony will meet in a Trelawny derby at Elliston Wakeland, while Norwood Strikers and Logwood will meet at the UDC Field.
