JAAA names CARIFTA squad
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) this morning released a 70-member squad to defend the island’s CARIFTA Games title next week at the 41st staging of the regional Championships in the Bahamas March 30-April 1.
Boys Championships triple gold medalist Michael Ohara and Girls Champs double gold medalist Shericka Jackson will lead the Under 20 team that will see Excelsior High’s David Riley as head coach.
Jazeel Murphy who will be seeking a third straight Boys under-20 100m title is also named in the squad along with Odail Todd, Federick Dacres, Simoya Campbell and Christoff Bryan.
Jamaica topped the medals tables last year in Bermuda with 78 medals to romp to their 28th straight win at the regional championships.
