The natural hair boom in Jamaica has been growing exponentially and one does not have to look very far. Increasingly, more Jamaicans are embracing natural roots to enhance their beauty. Locally, this has impacted the introduction of Jamaican-made hair product lines to fill the rising market. Ettenio, Beautiful Earth and Asherlee Naturals, all Jamaican natural hair brands only represent a small sector of the booming market. The natural hair wave is also poised to hit parishes across the island. Veronica Reid, organiser of several meet-ups of natural hair fanatics, hosts meet-ups to provide information sessions on a range of natural hair issues.
